Project partners

Main host and coordinating partner will be the hosting institution: CSIC.

It is the largest public research institution and third European largest research organisation. It has more than 10 000 employees, including nearly 4 000 staff researchers. Currently it has 120 institutes. The CSIC has a Vice-presidency of International Affairs dedicated to the participation in European programmes. The CSIC produces 20% of the national scientific output (first institution in Spain for patents). The CSIC is a major player in the development of the European Research Area (ERA). As of December 2019, the CSIC has obtained 643 projects in H2020. The CSIC is a main actor in the ERC programme, with a total of 112 projects signed as Host Institution and is also an active member in the EIT..

Instituto de Carboquimica – Combustion and Gasification Group. The group consists of 7 researchers (4 men and 3 women) with a permanent position, 4 post-doc, 3 PhD students and 2 technicians. Now, the group is involved in 1 EU-H2020 project, 3 Spanish projects and 3 projects with companies.

Laboratory facilites

Laboratory Facilities to prepare oxygen carriers; TGA, XRD, ICP, Hg-porosimetry, He-picnometry, BET, XPS, SEM-EDX, mechanical strength, AJI, PSD; Two fluidized bed reactors for gas and solid fuels for batch mode testing. One of them can be used at temperatures above 1000 ºC. one semi-continuous fluidized bed reactor can be operated at pressurized conditions. Three dedicated continuous CLC units for gaseous, liquids and solid fuels. These units can be operated up to 950 ºC. Thermochemical software (HSC, FactSage), chemical engineering software (ASPEN), programming language (Fortran, Matlab). CSIC has great experience in training see the “PLAN DE FORMACIÓN AÑO 2020”.
