Modelling Work.


The data obtained from WP1 on oxygen carrier characterization, especially using PTGA will be used to develop the particle model (D3.1). This will be done by curve fitting using models already employed for fuels behaviour. The kinetic model will be also checked based on the data obtained from BET and XRD analysis. Once this model is ready, building on it a more comprehensive 0D-Reactor model (D3.2) will be realised. In this the temperature behaviour will be simulated mainly with the temperatures measured already inside the reactor. In the 0D model not only the oxygen carrier particles will be modelled but also their reactions with the biofuel (transferring my knowledge to CSIC). The results of the model will be calibrated with the data on EGA acquired during WP2. Then the mass and energy balances obtained from the experimental campaigns in WP2 will be scaled up. After training by CSIC an Aspen model (D3.3) will be constructed to simulate the GTCLCL plant. The production of the biofuels will be integrated in the Aspen model. The kinetics of the reactor will be also integrated in the model. Mass and energy balances and the economic analysis on the entire plant will be performed. The final data will be used also to perform an LCA.
